Milwaukee is one win away from its first World Series title after defeating Tampa Bay 10-1 on Monday night at Tropicana Field.

The Brewers extended their winning streak to eight consecutive postseason games, tying the Major League record. The team had fallen behind 3-0 in the series after two close losses in Milwaukee. Monday's victory erased that deficit and shifted the momentum to the visitors.

The game turned decisively in the fifth inning. Milwaukee scored eight runs on two outs. This marked the first time in World Series history that a team scored eight two-out runs in a single inning.

Jackson Chourio opened the rally with a single and later stole second base. Brice Turang followed with a two-run single that bounced off shortstop Taylor Walls' glove. The Brewers added runs on hits by Garrett Mitchell, Cooper Pratt, and Sal Frelick.

Chourio finished the game 4-for-5 with a double and a stolen base. He became the second-youngest player to record four hits and a stolen base in a World Series game, trailing only Ty Cobb in 1908.

Robert Gasser pitched for Milwaukee. The rookie left-hander allowed one hit in six innings. He faced the minimum number of batters, a feat not accomplished by a starter in the World Series since Curt Schilling in 2001. Gasser became the first left-hander to do so since Sandy Koufax in 1965.

Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash acknowledged the pressure on his team. He noted that only the 2004 Boston Red Sox had previously overcome a 3-0 postseason series deficit. Cash said the Rays must win Tuesday to keep their season alive.

Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night at Tropicana Field. Griffin Jax will start for Tampa Bay. The Brewers have not yet announced their starting pitcher. Milwaukee leads the series 3-1.

The Rays finished the regular season with 98 wins and swept the New York Yankees in the Division Series. They defeated Cleveland in six games in the ALCS. The Brewers entered the series as the regular season champions with 103 wins.

Tampa Bay has never won a World Series in its 29-year history. The Brewers' previous appearance in the Finals ended in a Game 7 loss to St. Louis in 1982.
